Next Generation Plea:Where are the Midwives? Part 2
We try to worship, and we try to praise and pray but you look down upon us as if we have been possessed. Can we talk? With all due respect the way we worship and praise Our Father in Heaven does not look like the way you do. The same goes for you, the way you worship, and praise God doesn’t look how your mothers and fathers praised Him.
We are wrestling! It is a battle for our minds, our souls. It is a battle. A FULL-ON WAR!! Our identity is the very thing that anchors us in God—because when we know ourselves, we know God. He made us in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27). It’s an identity crisis. We hear, and we feel the call. We know we are King Davids and Queen Esthers, but we are being fought and we can only fight so hard. Cover us. Don’t judge us. Cover us. Take up the burden to show us what is right and pure. How do I travail? What is spiritual warfare? How do I battle in the Spirit? What does that look like? I can read and read and read all day long but if I don’t know what that looks like how can I be sure? We are trying to find and follow His voice but so many other things are being thrown at us. It’s a lot. We are weary, but we will not give up. We have lost too many of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to suicide, drugs, sexual perversions etc. We are being attacked in ways unlike ever before.
Is this a coincidence? We think not. It’s not that we aren’t gifted we are, but we need midwives to help us birth what God has placed down in us. Don’t judge us… Encourage us. We need to push for the time has come to birth but where are our midwives. The baby is crowning, and we need to push where are our midwives? Cover us. Don’t judge us. The way we serve the Lord and worship Him will not look familiar to you. Cover us. “Train up a child in the way that he shall go and when he is old he shall not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Help us birth our gifts. We are crowning! The mantle must be passed down, but we need your covering. It is our time now to be on the frontlines of the battlefield. We need your covering. Yes, the Lord fights for us but we still must walk this out! Cover us… show us, help us push! Do not judge us. Where are the midwives? The baby is near, and we need to push. And so it is!
