The Paradox of a Faith Child

My, oh my, oh my! What a paradox it is to be on this faith walk, this life journey, this effervescent stream. What does normal mean? Where do I fit in that spectrum? How can I be normal? After all I am a faith child right?! Don’t we have to be normal?

My dear child I say there is no such thing as “normal” when it comes to this life... there will be multiple things that try to dim your light, your uniqueness, your distinction to make you fit into the societal construct of what is “normal.”

As one pastor put it, “God’s ‘normal’ is [society’s] abnormal” and vice versa. As a faith child, you are the called to Destiny. And Destiny, my love, is not normal. It involves traversing unchartered territories, it involves fighting battles never before seen, and yet it includes victories beyond our wildest dreams.

Placed in a world that deems normality to be the safest place a person can be; one thing a faith child can be assured is that the only safest place to be is in destiny; operating in destiny. In God’s will and purpose for our lives! That is our only true safe place.

However, those who have been on this journey for quite some time will tell you that the safest most dangerous place to be is in the will of God; in destiny; in purpose. Yet, we are assured that “even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we shall fear no evil, for God is with us. His rod and His staff protect and comfort us” (Psalm 23:4).

So don’t be afraid my dear faith child to stand out unlike the rest. Don't be afraid to answer the call to be different. For God has not called us to fit in but to stand out ! So answer the call, my dear. Everything will be alright!

Love, your fellow faith child. And so it is !

God’s ‘normal’ is [society’s] abnormal.
